About The School of Applied Philosophy
The School of Applied Philosophy, formerly known as the Foundation for Philosophic Studies, is an adult education, non-profit
organization founded in 1989 in Rochester, NY.
The ten-week Introductory Course is a discrete unit of study, but for
those who wish to continue, the Introductory Course forms the first of
three terms - a Foundation Year of Philosophy - in which such topics as
the following are covered:
The Faculties of Reason
Individual and Universal
Mind
The Nature of Responsibility
Recourse to Consciousness
Living in the Present
The Transient and
the Eternal
Meditation training is offered in the second or third years.
