Welcome

"The unexamined life is not worth living."
- Socrates

"Know Thyself."
- The Oracle at Delphi.

This weekly evening course presents simple techniques of practice and open discussion, and draws upon philosophies East and West to provide a fresh approach to daily living.

The course examines fundamental questions regarding human potential, the power of consciousness, the control of the senses and the mind, and the removal of stress, leading one to greater happiness and a fuller life.

Students are asked neither to accept nor reject any of the ideas presented, however appealing, but rather to test them in the light of their own experience. No previous study of philosophy is required.

This 10-week introductory course is offered three times a year, starting in September, January, and April. Classes are offered on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:30 pm at the premises of The American Association of University Women (AAUW) , 494 East Avenue between Strathallan and Prince streets, Rochester, NY 14607.
